Hammerstad (1842-1925) was born in Kristiansund, Norway and he moved to Chicago, Illinois in 1869. He was known for his landscape paintings.

Momper (1564-1635) was born in Antwerp, he was from a family of painters and was taught by his father Bartholomeus de Momper, he was heavily influenced by Pieter Brueghel the Elder. In 1581 he became a master in the Antwerp Guild of St. Luke (The Guild of St. Luke being the common name at the time for artist guilds).  Momper specialized in landscapes.
